Philosophy on Retirement
Philosophy on Financial WellnessOne of the biggest causes of stress is something I call financial stress. To live a healthy balanced life, we not only need to incorporate healthy lifestyle habits but we also need to incorporate healthy money habits. Financial wellness is all about taking control of your money by implementing good financial habits. It's just like living a healthy lifestyle incorporating good eating and exercise habits. Good financial habits start with managing cashflow and living within your means. It means building your wealth through savings, investing and other financial assets. Financial wellness also means incorporating a prudent manageable use of debt. All of this boils down to creating a solid financial plan which sets the foundation for all financial decisions and good money habits. One of the keys to financial success is taking control of your money by engaging in your financial affairs and managing your wealth on an ongoing basis. I am committed to bring more financial education and wellness into the workplace and believe people need more access to formal financial education. If you want more financial education in your workplace, contact me. Philosophy on InvestingI believe that investing is a well-covered topic and although there are millions of messages many of which are conflicting each other there are only two things you need to know to become a successful investor: BUY LOW, SELL HIGH. Although this is a tough thesis to dispute, it is not the predominate investment strategy preached and practices. Instead we have all been told to BUY AND HOLD which ignores one of the two key steps to making money in investing . . . SELL HIGH. For many, BUY LOW SELL HIGH makes sense but it is tough to practice because our emotions get in the way of logic. I believe the key to becoming a successful investor is to develop a logic framework that helps keep emotions in check. I also believe passionately in conservative investing. The problem with the term conservative investing is it has become a trendy term and as a result, it is over-used and abused. There is no universal definition for what conservative means. It frustrates me when I hear people say "I am conservative" but their portfolios are losing 20% or more. To me conservative investing means not losing money and that's why I wrote the book on guaranteed investing. Philosophy on Lifeto come |

My professional passion is to help people retire happy, healthy and wealthy. I believe that retirement can be anything you want it to be . . . you simply need to take some time to figure out what you want it to be. Retirement today is different than it once was. It is no longer about relaxing, sitting on the couch and watching TV. Retirement today is about making it the best years of your life by being busy doing things that you love to do. How can you make this happen? It's simple, you need to take time to plan your future. It's not magically going to happen on it's own. I've got lots of resources to help you plan for your retirement from articles to books to videos or special reports. If you need a speaker to talk about retirement, feel free to contact me about some of my presentations or workshops. I also do individual planning on a fee only basis.
