Here are some examples of how real people have used My Legacy Organizer:

Jake has a large family. He has eight kids, 22 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He also has 4 younger siblings. Jake planned to leave a significant financial estate to his family but wanted to use My Legacy Organizer to capture some of his values and experiences with money. He wanted to make sure that when his kids and grandchildren inherited a sum of money that they were influenced by his stories and values.

 

Jillian was adopted and recently found her birth mom. She gave a copy of My Legacy Organizer to her birth mom to learn more about her family history. She also completed the program herself to give to her birth mom.

 

Sally recently lost her best friend Liz to cancer. Before she died, she would go to the hospital with questions from My Legacy Organizer and together they cried and laughed. Sally used these answers to complete the legacy organizer and shared numerous stories at the funeral as a tribute to Liz.

 

Eunice was having her 90th birthday. Her kids got together and used My Legacy Organizer to create a tribute to Eunice’s life. After the birthday party, the kids continued to work with their mom to complete more as a legacy for their kids and future grandchildren.

 

John used the organizer primarily with the intent to get more information from his parents to ensure that their stories and experiences would not die with them. As he did this, he realized how important it was for him to complete one too. After John diarized his legacy, he said it was a life changing experience. Not only was he able to reflect on the past but he recognized what was important for his future. It helped him to prioritize his life and live as though each day was going to be his last.

 

Wendy uses My Legacy Organizer as a life journal. Every week, she takes time to answer some questions and diarize some stories from her week. She hopes to turn it into an autobiography some day.

 

William and Genny have diarized their own legacy but now are using the program to foster communication with the family. At all the special occasions, William and Genny send out questions to their kids and ask everyone to bring their answers with them. William and Genny says their family has gotten closer because of these questions. Now everyone in their family is working on diarizing their own legacy.

 

Arthur came from a very large family with generations of traditions. Concerned that his children did not appreciate these traditions and may not pass them on to their children, Arthur completed My Legacy Organizer with the intent to preserve these traditions on paper. He believes the document has helped his kids appreciate these traditions more than ever.

 

Samantha was having some marital problems with her husband Steve. She used My Legacy organizer to capture her memories of their love and relationship through the years. She believes this saved her marriage. Things are not perfect but at least they can talk openly and work on their relationship.

 

Robert’s father passed away and when he was going through old pictures he realized how much he did not know about his father’s past. When he heard about My Legacy Organizer, he wishes that his father had completed it before his death not just to learn more about his past but also to put names and stories to the people in the pictures.
